To show off your spearfishing prowess & to provide proof of those 'stories' just post photos in our spearfishing album. Log in and go to 'Our Diver's Gallery' and select the Spearfishing Album and follow the instructions.

The conditions along the South Coast & over the Wairarapa have been spectacular with these ongoing southerlies. The water is around 17 degrees and has bought Kingfish and John Dory to the South Coast. This adds a bit of variety to the standard moki and butterfish usually taken in these areas. The new marine reserve has taken some of our favourite spots away but hopefully in a few years we will reap the benefits around Shark's Tooth & Red Rocks.

We have a new spearfishing guru lined up to answer any questions; assist with equipment set up, and to take you spearfishing and put dinner on the table. John ran a Spearfishing Course last week, and after learning about their target species and the best hunting techniques they headed out to Kapiti on Friday. Buterfish were the main meal but the divers managed to take home some moki, paua and crays as well.

After the sucess of this trip many divers were keen to head back out for another spearfishing opportunity. If you are keen for a charter please let us know as we will be running another trip later this month.

If you're anything like me you're probably gutted that there is no specialist spearfishing shop in Wellington, in fact there is nothing that really comes close. All that is about to change. Summer seems to be arriving & we’re starting to get some new stock in. We have dedicated a section of the shop to satisfy your equipment needs.

Anyway we're here for your spearfishing needs 7 days a week but if you just want a bit of time away from work or the house come in we'll be more than happy to have a yarn or two about the one that (insert exaggeration here e.g. bent shaft/ sunk float/ pulled you under) got away.
