{"id":286,"date":"2012-11-06T09:59:51","date_gmt":"2012-11-05T20:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/diveskihq.wordpress.com\/?p=286"},"modified":"2012-11-06T09:59:51","modified_gmt":"2012-11-05T20:59:51","slug":"a-diving-history-lauren-kohe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diveski.co.nz\/blog\/2012\/11\/06\/a-diving-history-lauren-kohe\/","title":{"rendered":"A Diving History &#8211; Lauren Kohe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the Instructor Development process our Instructor candidates write a brief history of their diving to date and what they would like to get out of diving in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Here is Lauren&#8217;s&#8230;.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/diveskihq.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/11\/0071.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-287\" title=\"Lauren\" alt=\"Having fun in Huia Pool\" src=\"http:\/\/diveskihq.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/11\/0071.jpg?w=300\" height=\"228\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0don&#8217;t remember learning how to swim,<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve always been able to<br \/>\nGrowing up in Wellington<br \/>\nThe sea is part of you<\/p>\n<p>Rivers, beaches and Marine Reserves<br \/>\nPlay a vital part<br \/>\nTo keep Wellington beautiful<br \/>\nAnd special in my heart<\/p>\n<p>Swimming, kayaking and snorkeling<br \/>\nLed me to the sea<br \/>\nIt was only a matter of time<br \/>\nBefore SCUBA called to me<\/p>\n<p>I was Open Water certified<br \/>\nin July 2011<br \/>\nMy eyes were now open<br \/>\nTo a new liquid heaven<\/p>\n<p>The water was cold<br \/>\nA chilly 9 degrees<br \/>\nBut I ws not deterred<br \/>\nNot shaking at the knees<\/p>\n<p>Now free to explore<br \/>\nAnd log adventures of my own<br \/>\nI head to Australia<br \/>\nA home away from home<\/p>\n<p>New creatures to uncover<br \/>\nTheir wonders fill my mind<br \/>\nWobbegongs and Sea Dragons<br \/>\nWhat a wicked find<\/p>\n<p>Home again to further<br \/>\nMy diving education<br \/>\nBecome a PADI Scuba Instructor<br \/>\nThat is my vocation<\/p>\n<p>From Open Water and Advanced<br \/>\nTo Rescue and Dive Master<br \/>\nDeveloping my new skills<br \/>\nMy mind is racing faster<\/p>\n<p>Drift, Deep and Boat diving<br \/>\nAll have their special place<br \/>\nBut Kau Bay on a night dive<br \/>\nPuts a smile on my face<\/p>\n<p>Noctiluca, shy Sea Horse<br \/>\nAnd the graceful Eagle Ray<br \/>\nLeave me energetic and excited<br \/>\nIn a peaceful kind of way<\/p>\n<p>As I dive in more locations<br \/>\nExperiencing wonder and awe<br \/>\nOne thing has become clear to me<br \/>\nTouching my very core<\/p>\n<p>Natural, clean and pure<br \/>\nIs what an ocean ought to be<br \/>\nVibrant and healthy<br \/>\nWith no marine debris<\/p>\n<p>Project AWARE offer<br \/>\nHope and education<br \/>\nFor those who are eager<br \/>\nTo change the state of our ocean<\/p>\n<p>I dream of a world<br \/>\nFree from rubbish in our sea<br \/>\nAnd when I&#8217;m a PADI Instructor<br \/>\nThis will be my philosophy<br \/>\nTeamwork and respect<br \/>\nIs the vital key<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the Instructor Development process our Instructor candidates write a brief history of their diving to date and what they would like to get out of diving in the future.
