{"id":978,"date":"2014-08-13T01:22:07","date_gmt":"2014-08-13T01:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.divestore.co.nz\/blog\/?p=978"},"modified":"2014-08-13T01:32:07","modified_gmt":"2014-08-13T01:32:07","slug":"palau-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diveski.co.nz\/blog\/2014\/08\/13\/palau-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Palau 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For years Palau has been a dream destination for our dive club \u2013 with more flight options and a better package price this year we finally got to go. 30+ hours of travelling later and still another flight to go we were all hoping it was all worth it.<\/p>\n<p>24 hours later and heading underwater for the first time we knew it was \u2013 white tip and grey reef sharks, 2 manta rays at the cleaning stations and a 3m hammerhead cruised on past. surge to watch the sharks and schools of fish hanging off the point. We were also visited by 2 large Napoleon Wrasse.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.divestore.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/hooked1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Claire had heard that there were Mandarin Fish along the wall in front of the dive operation so spent a quiet hour cruising along and found 4 mandarin fish, several pipefish and some very territorial damsel and angel fish.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.divestore.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/angel.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-982\" src=\"http:\/\/www.divestore.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/angel-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Angel Fish\" width=\"276\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.divestore.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/mandarin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-994\" world famous Jellyfish Lake \u2013 with 100\u2019s of stingless jellies!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.divestore.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/jelly1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" end and so our trip was over and it was time to take the many flights back home to Wellington<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.divestore.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/IMG_0766.jpg\"><img height=\"134\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We would all head back \u2013 the diving was fantastic, the dive operator\u2019s organised and informative, the accommodation basic but comfy and the food tasty and
