Our Student Words

Our graduates have careers in a range of dive areas including Marine Science, Commercial Diving, Dive Boat Skippering and of course Dive Instructing.

Dive Ski WellingtonBen Thompson - PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
I completed my IDC with Dive HQ Wellington and would just like to say how fantastic this course was! The team at Dive HQ were such a great crew to learn from. The Course Director Claire Murphy has an endless amount of knowledge and experience and truly inspired my passion for the underwater world. Claire was enthusiastic about diving, dedicated to her students, extremely patient, and made learning fun. A great role model to learn from.

Words can't describe how life changing this course has been for me and as a budding dive professional I hope I can one day be as inspiring and influential as the crew at Dive HQ.

Dive Ski WellingtonMalindi Gammon - PADI Divemaster
As a marine biology student and diver, I wanted to contimue my PADI training and develop myself professionally. The PADI Dive Master rating was very rewarding, I gained greater confidence in the world and the knowledge and experience to deal with a range of situations.  During the course I went on some awesome dives and met lots of interesting people.

I completed this course alongside my Master’s degree in Marine Biology at Victoria University. Scuba diving allowed me to take part in a four-week deep-sea research trip to the Chatham Rise and a two-month turtle monitoring programme in Western Australian.

Dive Ski WellingtonCameron Brown - PADI Rescue Diver
I enrolled as a part time dive student with Dive HQ, intent on gaining PADI certificates to add to my resume as a stunt performer. The knowledgeable tutors aided me in this, and were extremely accommodating when it came to working in with my necessary dives and busy schedule.

Diving is an experience that only a small portion of people take part in.  I get a thrill out of exploring the world below the waves. I will use my PADI qualification on film sets in the future, and as an ongoing skill I can enjoy and develop. I look forward to exploring unique underwater areas around the world and meeting new divers along the way.

Dive Ski WellingtonPatrick (Paddy) Keenan - PADI Staff Instructor
I completed the my Instructor Development Course (IDC) with Dive HQ Wellington. Following the success of my course I was lucky to pick up some part time instructing work at Dive HQ which quickly led to a full time position & the opportunity to complete the PADI Staff Instructor rating, which put me in good stead to travel and work around the world.

Travelling through South East Asia as a dive instructor is a dream come true. I had some of the most amazing dive experiences but  eventually traded in the warm waters of Asia for the comparatively Arctic waters of the UK managing one of England's largest dive equipment retailers. Now I am back Managing Dive HQ and working towards more technical diving ratings.
