| Dive Club Wellington Updates: May’s weather limited our dive opportunities and Paddy’s students braved some crazy winds while Tyla’s course had not only sunshine but 2 sharks!! Claire headed back down to Dive HQ Christchurch to run an Instructor Development Course and started a Divemaster Course here in Wellington. Camilla received her first PADI certificate of excellence – it won’t be her las Worlds Ocean Day is on the 8th of June and we are running an underwater clean up dive to celebrate. PADI’s Women’s Dive Day is on the 19th of July and we are running a range of womens only try dives, refreshers and an open water course with Claire, Camilla, Tyla & Maureen (Paddy is definitely feeling outnumbered now) Club Dives: Every weekend from 9:45am at the beach and Thursdays from 5:45pm. Don’t forget to book in a few days prior so we can get organised. Quiz Entry – $5 plus $$$ for the charity raffle (cash is key here) Have you joined our biggest ever dive club challenge! This challenge will take us to the deepest known point of the world’s oceans. Challenger Deep – 10,935m To date we have dived to 4,467.60m and raised $3675.81 There’s still a way to go to meet our goals so please sign up, log your club dives and help support this incredible challenge & our chosen charities. We have a local boat dive for participants on the 5th of July and we will be aiming to log another 500m on the day – Spaces are limited so get in quick.
