🌊 Dive Club Wellington | What’s On This Month
After another wet & wild weekend here in Wellington we are pleased to see some sunshine. Our club divers have been out exploring & our newest PADI Open Water Divers had an epic encounter with an inquisitive octopus.
A reminder, especially after the heavy rains, that the Wellington Regional Council & Health NZ are still advising people to check Lawa’s ‘Can I Swim Here?’ status. Their general recommendation is not to enter the water during rainfall, or after rain for 48 hours. The advice is still NOT to collect or consume any kai moana within the area between Ōwhiro Bay and Breaker Bay.
We have more dives planned for the month ahead including Night Snorkelling events on the 2nd & 23rd with Camilla to hunt for seahorses and other nocturnal critters like squid, crabs and sleeping fishes.
We have a PADI Advanced Open Water Course on the 18th & 19th – a great way to convince yourself to dive in Winter & imrpove your key skills with Buoyancy. Deep, Navigation & Night dives included.
Don’t forget that we have our club Quiz Night on Tuesday 7th.July at the Sprig & Fern.
